1. You can boast only in the cross when you are on the cross.
2. I think it means that when you finnaly accept God as your savior that you are giving up your old life and your faith is living inside of you. I think the part where it says I live by faith in the Son of God points out the difference. I thnk that I need to live by faith at my home because I dont really listen to my parents and I should.
